Biography

Monica Anghel is a Romanian singer and tv-star.  She won the “Golden Stag” for Romania in 1996, and in the same year, won the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Rugă pentru pacea lumii”. However, Romania did not pass the audio selection in that year. She is also known from the cabaret group Divertis. In 2002, together with Marcel Pavel, she represented Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest. Monica Anghel is also a popular and much asked voice actor for the animated film. She also sang a lot of duets.
In the song “Rugă pentru pacea lumii” Monica was accompanied by the band Sincron, a Romanian rock band founded in 1964. It’s leader was Cornel Fugaru.
