Biography

Joci Pápai is a Hungarian singer, voice actor, rapper and guitarist of Romani descent. He participated twice in the Eurovision Song Contest: in 2017 and in 2019.
His debut came in 2005 in the second season of Megasztár, a talent show broadcast by TV2. It brought him a record deal. His first big success was the song “Ne nézz így rám”. Since 2006, he featured on a number of records, but his greatest success was in 2015 with “Mikor a test örexik”. Joci then came up with another song called “Elrejtett világ”. He also collaborated with Majka on a light pop funk song called “Senki más”.
Joci Pápai decided to participate in the 2017 national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, ‘A Dal’. He won the contest and represented Hungary in the international final with the song “Origo”.  He also finished third in the fifth season of TV2’s “Sztárban sztár”, also known as “Your face sounds familiar”. In 2019, he participated in “A Dal” again and also won again. The song “Az en apám” was the Hungarian entry for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.
