Biography

Jacques Zegers is a Belgian singer, comedian and journalist. He began his career in 1963 at the age of 16, in various cabarets. He performed successfully in several international festivals, while pursuing a career in journalism. He rose to fame in 1983 with the songs “Pour elle” and “L.A. in Olympia”, which is the official Belgian anthem of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. In 1984, Jacques Zegers represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 1984. At the same time, he became advertising director of the weekly magazines Le Marché and De Markt. Jacques Zegers also wrote lyrics for children for songs, composed by Henri Seroka (Johan et Pirlouit, Scrameustache, Marsupilami …). Since 1987, Jacques has also been involved in theater, notably with the group ‘Copains d’abord’. After the Eurovision Song Contest, he continued his journalism career. He also released a novel entitled ‘Le Nœud au mouchoir’.
