Biography

Bilal Hassani is a French singer and YouTuber. He was born in Orsay. In 2015, Hassani participated in the second season of The Voice Kids and introduced himself in the blind auditions by singing a cover of “Rise Like a Phoenix” by Conchita Wurst. On October 10, 2018, he released a clip titled, “Monarchie absolue”, in duet with the rapper Alkpote. 
In 2018, the LGBT magazine Têtu designated Hassani as one of the “30 LGBT+ people who move France”. The magazine described him as “an icon for French LGBT+ youth”.
In 2019, Bilal Hassani was chosen to represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Roi”. In the road to Eurovision, Bilal received many hate comments from different sides, which he made report of to the police.
