Alicja Szemplińska is a Polish singer, born in Ciechanów. As a child, she attended vocal classes at a local community center and she sang in a church choir. She took part in many competitions and festivals. At the age of 12, started following professional singing lessons. In 2016 she took part in the tv program Hit, Hit, Hurra!. She won. As a reward, she received an invitation to participate in singing classes with Seth Riggs, vocal trainer of Michael Jackson. In 2019, she participated in the tenth edition of The Voice of Poland. She ended up as the winner here as well. As a reward, she received a check for 50,000 and signed a record contract with Universal Music Polska. After participating in the program, she released her debut single “Prawie my” with the music video, which within 10 days of the premiere exceeded the threshold of one million views on YouTube.
In 2020, Alicja was chosen to represent Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Empire”. Due to the corona crisis, that didn’t happen.
