Aksel Kankaanranta is a Finnish singer and musician. His interest in music started as a child playing the violin. However, Aksel realized his talent as a singer when playing bass on Zen Café was really beautiful. In 2017, Aksel participated in the Voice of Finland because his mother and sister encouraged him to apply. The only purpose was to test how far the hoops were. Aksel ended up in second place.
In 2019 he won an award at the Emma gala for most streamed song. In 2020, he was chosen to represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Looking back”. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen due to the corona crisis. Although he was not offered a secure place in the 2021 national final, Aksel already said he will do an attempt.
